By Simon HunterThe author, a former member of the Australian Water Utilities Board, is a former consultant for the NSW Water Regulator, and a consultant for New South Wales Water, Infrastructure and Communities Minister, David Gallacher.

He spoke to Newsweek about water pipes and toilets, how water-pressure systems work, and how you can get water in your home without putting your hand on it.

Q: What was your role as a water-pipe consultant?

A: I had to have a degree in engineering and I did it as a consultant to NSW Water.

So, as a result, I have worked on a lot of different things.

I’ve been involved in a lot different projects, like the Sydney Airport and the NSW Maritime Registry.Q
