As you might expect, zombie water pipes aren’t a new phenomenon.
The zombies first appeared in The Walking Dead episode “The Day After Tomorrow,” which aired on October 25, 2013.
As the show progressed, the zombies developed a more complex way of walking, but the idea remained the same.
“In The Walking Night’s War, there was one that we created called a ‘spine’ water pipe,” the developers said in a blog post.
“This pipe would go from the mouth of the zombie to the mouth or top of the head, where the zombie would die.”
In the episode, a zombie tried to kill the lead character, Rick Grimes, but he ended up being saved by his best friend Maggie.
“He got into a watery pool and he’s been gone for about two seconds,” the show’s writers said.
The water pipe would then descend down the zombie’s throat, through his intestines, and into his stomach.
“The water pipe was supposed to be a very long, watery, and messy pipe,” showrunner Scott M. Gimple told The Hollywood Reporter in 2013.
“But I realized we could cut that, and we could just make the water pipe into a nice long, skinny piece of water, and you could have it come out and then you could go down and go up, and then down and up, just like in a water tower, so you could make it go straight down and down.”
A water pipe is made with a hollow pipe and a solid tube.
It is a way to transport water without actually having to travel through it.
As Gimple explained in the podcast, the water was “like a huge tube, and it goes all the way to the top.”
A zombie would then try to kill Rick Grimes by grabbing the lead actor’s head with the waterpipe.
“It’s really a little bit of a slow death,” Gimple said.
“We thought it would be cool to make the zombie water not be like a water elevator, which is a kind of slow, long, and very messy way to get water.
You can just drop it, and they’re dead, right?”
